Investment Banking Associate Chemicals Team

Our client is a global mid-market US Investment Bank with a strong European platform providing M&A and Equities advice to their clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global sector team that is in growth mode with a deal rich pipeline.

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an Investment Banking Associate with 3 – 4 years of M&A sell-side experience.

 

  • Responsible for supporting the sector teams M&A capabilities.
  • Assisting senior bankers on execution of sell-side advisory transactions.
  • Preparing and presenting marketing materials (including opportunity and industry research)
  • Leading valuation and financial modelling work
  • Working closely with the broader global sector group as required
  • Deeper understanding of the relevant sector
  • Developing relationships across the Firm with other sector and product experts, and externally with clients and other professional advisors

 

Person Specification

  • Must have at least 3-4 years of M&A sell-side experience ideally from an Investment Bank or Boutique advisory firm.
  • Must have Chemicals sector experience.
  • Degree educated with a minimum of 2:1 from a top university.
  • Must have proven knowledge of transaction processes, including modelling, drafting and presentation skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with an ability to grasp and understand business issues quickly
  • Appetite for varied project work and a desire to contribute to a highly successful M&A team
  • Ability to work accurately under time pressure and manage multiple commitments
  • Able to deliver and to work effectively across teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with colleagues and clients in business and social situations
